Who answers the phone
Morton Grove 24/7 Plumbing is a plumbing dispatch line based at 7250 Dempster St, Morton Grove, IL 60053. You call (847) 281-8626, a dispatcher listens, and a licensed plumber is sent to your home or business. The line is open 24/7, including nights, weekends and holidays, because pipes do not break on a schedule.
We send licensed and insured plumbers. We do not ask you to fill out a form or send a message and wait. Everything starts with a phone call, so you talk to a person about your actual problem.
What we do
The work is residential and light commercial plumbing. That covers the problems people call about most often, and the planned jobs that keep those calls from happening.
- Clogged drains, sewer line cleaning and hydro jetting
- Leaks, burst pipes and hidden water loss through leak detection
- Water heater repair and replacement, including tankless models
- Toilets, faucets and garbage disposals
- Sump pumps, sewer inspections and backflow protection
- New plumbing installation and repiping
For a full list, the services page groups everything by problem. If your job is not listed, call anyway. The dispatcher will tell you honestly whether a plumber can help.
What we do not do
It is just as useful to know where our work stops. We handle plumbing, and we send you to the right people for everything else.
- We do not repair gas appliances. A gas smell means everyone goes outside first, then 911 and your gas company get the call.
- We do not make health claims about your water. Questions about water quality belong with your water supplier and the village.
- We do not do electrical work. If water has reached outlets or the panel, stay clear and call a licensed electrician once it is safe.
- We do not issue permits. The village does. For permit rules, we send you to Morton Grove Building and Inspectional Services.
Where a job needs a permit, such as a water heater or a sewer line repair, the plumber tells you before work begins so there are no surprises.
How a call works
When you call, the dispatcher asks for your address, what you can see and hear, and whether the water is off. Anything involving gas or sewage is handled first, and you get safety steps to follow while you wait. A licensed plumber is then assigned.
The plumber looks at the problem before anything is repaired. They show you what they found, walk through the options and quote a plain price. Only after you agree does the work begin. If something unexpected turns up, you hear about it before the price changes.
We do not promise an arrival time. Traffic, weather and how many urgent calls are ahead of yours all change it, and a made-up number would only make you wait with false hope. If the schedule has room, a same-day visit can be set up, and the most urgent jobs move to the front of the line.

How to check any plumber's licence
You should be able to confirm a plumber's licence in minutes, no matter who you hire. Under the Illinois Plumbing License Law, plumbers are licensed by the state health agency, IDPH. A public lookup tool from its Division of Environmental Health lets anyone search by name or number, with no account needed.
Licence numbers follow a pattern. The prefix tells you what you are looking at. A 058- number is an individual plumber, 055- is a plumbing contractor registration and 056- is an apprentice. In Illinois, installing, altering, repairing or maintaining plumbing without a licence is not allowed. If a company will not tell you who is doing the work, that is a reason to keep looking.
Why clear pricing matters
Plumbing prices depend on the pipe, how hard it is to reach, the parts and sometimes a permit. A fair price is one you can understand before you say yes. Our plumbers state it first, in plain terms, so you can compare it with another quote if you want to.
If insurance may cover the damage, ask your insurer before you approve repair work, and keep your photos and any parts the plumber removes. We can give you a written description of the work to send them.
What to expect when the plumber is at your door
Before anyone touches a pipe, the plumber asks you to show where the problem is and where the main water shut-off sits. If the shut-off is stuck or hidden, finding it is the first job, because stopping the water limits the damage while the repair is planned.
The plumber then explains what is wrong in plain words, shows you the failed part where that is possible, and lays out the choices. Some repairs are quick fixes and some call for a replacement. You are told which is which, along with the trade-offs of each, so the decision stays with you and not with the person holding the wrench.
